We would like to bring a discussion and share with you some interesting information. As a regular music consumers and a media dedicated to music, we are often confronted with questions related to music industry and artist\/label revenue. Some regular questions are:
\n– where to buy music?
\n– how to support labels?
\n– is buying from itunes bad?
\n– do people still buy CDs and why?
\n– how to support artist?<\/p>\n

It would be fair to say that each music niche has it’s own particularity, vinyl, cd’s and digital are all present in the market. <\/p>\n

From our understanding, in general the best way to support artist is to buy music from artist\/label website. If you have a chance to buy CDs it is still a relatively good revenue that will support artist-label-shop chain. If you are more into digital, than bandcamp looks like the platform of choice. And of course the best way you can thank to artist is to smile, send your feedback and speak about their work to people around you!<\/p>\n

Benefits of Music Labels<\/h2>\n

If an artist\u2019s music is of good quality, like Brian Pugsley<\/a>, his music will get recorded for other labels, and then get it out on CD, etc. With this type of connection, the artist will be able to promote themselves and their music. This can give the artist a big boost when it comes to getting their music heard. It will also help other people know about the artist and his music.<\/p>\n

Once an artist becomes a member of an independent music label, they will also be able to write music for other artists. This can be very lucrative, especially if the artist writes a few good songs and sells them. The artist\u2019s songs can be sold for commercials, for instance, and find a great deal of work, which is always helpful if the artist is trying to make money from their music.<\/p>\n

As well as the above, independent music labels can also give an artist a great deal of exposure, allowing them to gain fans. If the fan base is strong, people will tell their friends and family about it, helping build the artist\u2019s reputation, then more people will hear his music. <\/p>\n

There are also a lot of Independent Label Tapes available online. These tapes are produced by independent artists who are trying to get their music heard. They record at their own studio and get their music out there to the world. Many of these artists make a lot of money when they sell these tapes to labels. <\/p>\n

Supporting music labels is a good idea. If you\u2019re a music fanatic and you want to help independent artists, you can express how much you appreciate them by supporting the good ones. It is a great investment you can rely on, most especially when the artist you\u2019re supporting suddenly becomes a big star.<\/p>\n
